Evidence-Tiered Venomics of the BotG50 Toxic Fraction from Buthus occitanus tunetanus Reveals a Diversified Neurotoxin Repertoire
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: This dataset contains nanoLC-HRMS/MS proteomics data from the BotG50 toxic fraction isolated from Buthus occitanus tunetanus venom by Sephadex G-50 gel-filtration. Raw data were acquired on an Orbitrap Exploris 480 and processed through a five-stage evidence-tiered bioinformatics pipeline combining Proteome Discoverer database searching against a custom scorpion toxin UniProt FASTA, BLAST-guided homology expansion, Casanovo de novo sequencing with variant construction, signal-peptide and propeptide removal, and PTM annotation. The dataset includes raw files (.raw), peak lists (.mgf), the custom FASTA database, Proteome Discoverer search results, and Casanovo de novo sequencing output. A total of 65 toxic components were identified (FDR < 1%), comprising neurotoxins targeting K+, Na+, and Cl- channels, α/β toxins, and accessory venom proteins.
