Contracting Skeletal Muscle Releases Antioxidant-Enriched Extracellular Vesicles and Non-vesicular Extracellular Nanoparticles
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: This study investigated extracellular vesicles and non-vesicular extracellular nanoparticles released from C2C12 skeletal muscle myotubes following electrical pulse stimulation (EPS). Quantitative proteomics was used to characterize protein profiles and identify changes associated with EPS and antioxidant treatment. The study focused on proteins associated with extracellular particle populations and their potential roles in antioxidant signaling and interorgan communication.
