Epidemiological surveillance of S. pneumoniae and pneumococcal diseases in Mexico.
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Since 1993, Mexico has been part of the SIREVA network, a laboratory-based surveillance Latin-American group, coordinated by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) that monitors pneumococcal infection. Twenty years later, the network changes its name to GIVEBPVac to include other vaccine preventable bacteria. This network is particularly involved in the dynamics of pneumococcal lineages and serotypes before and after introduction of new conjugated vaccines.
