Project description:Heliophilum fasciatum is an anoxygenic photosynthetic bacteria isolated from rice soil. Previous work outlined the existence of five nitrogen-fixation-like gene clusters potentially involved in sulfur metabolism. In this study, cultures of H. fasciatum were grown with varying sulfate and thiosulfate concentrations, and the transcriptomes were generated using Illumina RNA-sequencing. Differential gene expression analysis was utilized to investigate sulfur-mediated regulation of these nitrogen-fixation-like systems and H. fasciatum genes.
Project description:Investigation of whole genome gene expression level changes in Lactococcus lactis KCTC 3769T,L. raffinolactis DSM 20443T, L. plantarum DSM 20686T, L. fujiensis JSM 16395T, L. garvieae KCTC 3772T, L. piscium DSM 6634T and L. chungangensis CAU 28T . This proves that transcriptional profiling can facilitate in elucidating the genetic distance between closely related strains.
