Project description:Microplastics (MPs) as widespread contamination pose high risk for aquatic organisms.Intestinal microbiotahas have high interaction with immune system of host body. In this study, intestinal microbiota of zebrafish after Polystyrene (PS-MPs) exposure were characterized by 16S rDNA amplicon sequencing. We found that 100nm and 200μm PS-MPs exposure significantly increased diversity of intestinal microbiota and all the three sizes of PS-MPs increased abundance of pathogenic bacteria.
Project description:16S rRNA V3-V4 amplicon sequencing was performed on fecal samples from 12 male C57BL/6J mice across three groups (4 replicates each): Control (distilled water, 3 days), Model (distilled water, 3 days + APAP 300 mg/kg i.p.), and PoH (PO extract 3 g/kg p.o. daily for 3 days + APAP 300 mg/kg i.p.). Sequencing was performed on an Illumina NovaSeq 6000 platform using paired-end 250bp reads.
Project description:Members of the tomato clade exhibit wide diversity in fruit coloration, growth habit, leaf morphology and mating preferences. However, the mechanisms governing inter-species diversity in fruit coloration are largely unknown. Therefore, a proteomic approach combined with carotenoid profiling and carotenogenic gene expression was used to decipher the diversity in carotenogenesis in green-fruited Solanum habrochaites, orange-fruited S. galapagense, and red-fruited S. pimpinellifolium with S. lycopersicum, cv. Ailsa Craig (tomato).
