Project description:This clinical trial studies the effectiveness of a web-based cancer education tool called Helping Oncology Patients Explore Genomics (HOPE-Genomics) in improving patient knowledge of personal genomic testing results and cancer and genomics in general. HOPE-Genomics is a web-based education tool that teaches cancer/leukemia patients, and patients who may be at high-risk for developing cancer, about genomic testing and provide patients with information about their own genomic test results. The HOPE-Genomics tool may improve patient’s genomic knowledge and quality of patient-centered care. In addition, it may also improve education and care quality for future patients.
Project description:Glomerular endothelial cells were cultured in normal condition and treated or not with microvesicles derived from endothelial progenitor cells. mRNA profiling of glomerular endothelial cells , treated with MVs, was analyzed after normalization with mRNA profiling of untreated cells.
Project description:Our objective is to monitor glomerular filtration rate (GFR)during the perioperative phase of patients undergoing robotic surgery for rectum or large bowel cancers. We will use both a single injection and a continuous infusion of iohexol to measure kidney function for 72 hours after surgery.
Project description:Glomerular Transcriptome from subjects in the NEPTUNE cohort. A number of samples profiled in this analysis were also profiled in Series GSE68127, and Series GSE108113. RNA from the glomerular compartment of was extracted and processed for hybridization on Affymetrix microarrays. Contributor: NEPTUNE Consortium. This dataset is part of the TransQST collection.
Project description:Comparing glomerular gene expression level between mice with different susceptibilities to diabetic nephropathy, DBA/2 (susceptible) and C57BL/6 (resistant) mice, respectively. The hypothesis is that differential expression of glomerular genes regulate susceptibility to diabetic nephropathy. The results show immune related genes. Thus, glomerular inflammation may increase susceptibility to diabetic nephropathy in mice. RNA isolated from kidney glomeruli of DBA/2 and C57BL/6 mice, with or without 4 weeks diabetes induced by streptozotocin.
Project description:SAGE libraries were prepared from mRNA of cultured bovine glomerular and aortic endothelial cells. Cells both cell lines were positive for acetylated LDL uptake and vWF expression, and were proven to be free of non-endothelial cells. Cultures were studied at passage 9-10. The cells were confluent, cultured in parallel, under identical conditions. Cells were plated on gelatin coated cell culture plastic in RPMI 1640 medium containing 10% FBS and streptomycin/penicillin. The last medium change was 48 hours prior to mRNA harvest. Keywords = endothelial, glomerular, kidney, aorta, Keywords: other
