Project description:Small RNAs (sRNAs) play important roles in plants encountering stress environments. However, limited research has been conducted on the sRNAs involved in plant wound responses. To identify potential roles for the wounding-related sRNAs, sRNA deep sequencing was used. After leaves were wounded for 0.5 hour, total RNAs from unwounded and wounded leaves were isolated for sRNA library construction. The Illumina platform was used to sequence sRNA libraries. About 12 million sequence reads were obtained for each sample.
Project description:We sequenced mRNA and small RNA (sRNA) profiles in the interaction between Brachypodium distachyon (Bd) and Serendipita indica (Si; syn. Piriformospora indica), at four (4) days post inoculation (DPI). sRNA sequencing reads of Si-colonized and non-colonized roots, as well as axenic fungal cultures were generated. Three biological samples of each were sequenced, with two technical replicates per sample (SE). Raw reads from sRNA sequencing were submitted to technical adapter trimming (Cutadapt) before upload.

Project description:In this study we investigated whether gut microbiota profile of Italian healthy volunteers could differ based on their geaographical origin. To this purpose, fecal samples were collected from 31 healthy individuals living in 3 different italian regions (Lombardy, North; Lazio, Center; Apulia, South) and their respective microbiota profiles were analyzed employing 16S metagenomic sequencing method. This study identifies differences in the gut microbiota content and richness among individuals with the same ethnicity coming from three different Italian regions.
