In an effort to begin to delineate the bicarbonate regulon, we used microarray analysis with cells grown to late exponential growth phase (3 hr) and then submitted to a 15 min exposure with 0.1 M NaHCO3. Our goal was to define the first set of genes affected by the presence of bicarbonate.

ADGRL1 (latrophilin 1), a well-characterized adhesion G protein-coupled receptor, has been implicated in synaptic development, maturation, and activity. However, the role of ADGRL1 in human disease has been elusive. Here, we describe ten individuals with variable neurodevelopmental features includin...

Background

Defects of mitochondrial ATP synthase (ATPase) represent an emerging, yet incompletely understood group of neurodevelopmental diseases with abnormal movements.

Objective

The aim of this study was to redefine the phenotypic and mutational spectrum of movement disorders linke...
Members of the leucine rich repeat (LRR) and PDZ domain (LAP) protein family are essential for animal development and histogenesis. Densin-180, encoded by LRRC7, is the only LAP protein selectively expressed in neurons. Densin-180 is a postsynaptic scaffold at glutamatergic synapses, linking cytoske...
Variants in spliceosomal small nuclear RNA (snRNA) genes RNU4-2 (ReNU syndrome), RNU5B-1, and RNU2-2 have recently been linked to dominant neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), revealing a major, previously overlooked role for noncoding snRNAs in human disease. Here, we systemati...

Background

Intellectual disability (ID) is the leading cause of patient referral to medical genetic departments in French academic hospitals. Whole genome sequencing (WGS) as a first diagnostic approach is expected to achieve a higher diagnostic yield than the French national reference strat...
The major spliceosome contains five small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs; U1, U2, U4, U5 and U6) essential for splicing. Variants in RNU4-2, encoding U4, cause a neurodevelopmental disorder called ReNU syndrome. We investigated de novo variants in 50 snRNA-encoding genes in a French cohort of 23,649 individua...
