RNAseq of human buttock skin from patients with photoaggravated atopic dermatitis exposed to solar simulated radiation
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Photoaggravated atopic dermatitis (PAD) is clinically characterised by sunlight induced/aggravated eczema. The underlying cutaneous pathophysiology of PAD remains poorly understood. This study aimed to investigate cellular and molecular events in the evolution of PAD responses following solar simulated ultraviolet radiation (SSR) exposure and compare with responses in healthy controls (HC). Cutaneous biopsies were taken from unexposed skin and from skin exposed to a single low (physiological) dose of SSR, at 30 minutes, 3 hours and 24 hours post-initial exposure, as well as at 72 hours (after three consecutive daily SSR doses), in n=6 PAD patients and n=6 HC. Biopsies were assessed by immunohistochemistry (n=6 PAD, n=6 HC) and RNA-sequencing analysis (n=5 PAD, n=4 HC). This dataset contains RNAseq data from the PAD patients.
