Salt stress in salt sensitive Oryza sativa Indica group Pokkali (salt sensitive)

ABSTRACT: Oryza sativa Indica group Pokkali (salt sensitive) seedlings were subjected to salt stress or control conditions and sampled at five time points over the course of 4 hours. RNA samples extracted were assayed using the Illumina HiSeq 2000 platform.
Project description:Oryza sativa Indica group IR29 (salt sensitive) seedlings were subjected to salt stress or control conditions and sampled at five time points over the course of 24 hours. RNA samples extracted were assayed using the Illumina HiSeq 2000 platform.
Project description:Oryza sativa L. Japonica nipponbare seedlings were treated with 300mM NaCl or water, and then samples were taken after one hour, five hours and 24 hours, to assess which genes are differentially expressed over time during salt stress treatment. The results from this dataset are also compared with those from the same samples assayed using RNA-seq.

Project description:We report the application of small RNA sequencing (Illumina) technology for the identification of miRNA from root and leaf tissues of pokkali rice cultivar grown under normal and salt stress conditions. We used this data to predict and identify known and novel miRNAs.

Project description:Comparative expression analysis between two highly salt-tolerant wheat lines, their parental lines, and a salt-sensitive line. The Chinese Spring (CS) line is salt sensitive. AJDAj5 and PhI are the two parental lines (with Chinese Spring background), and both have some salt-tolerance. W4909 and W4910 are two lines derived from crossing AJDAj5 and PhI, and both are more salt tolerant than either parental line.
Project description:To detect salt-tolerance-related miRNAs, comparative analysis of miRNA expression profiles was performed between the salt-tolerant and -sensitive cotton cultivars in control and salt-stressed conditions (treated with 300 mM NaCl for 24 h) using microRNA microarray
Project description:Substitution of chromosome 13 from Brown Norway BN/SsNHsd/Mcw (BN/Mcw) rats into the Dahl salt-sensitive SS/JrHsd/Mcw (SS/Mcw) rats resulted in substantial reduction of blood pressure salt sensitivity in this consomic rat strain designated SSBN13. In the present study, we attempted to identify genes associated with salt-sensitive hypertension by utilizing a custom, known-gene cDNA microarray to compare the mRNA expression profiles in the renal medulla (a tissue playing a pivotal role in long-term blood pressure regulation) of SS/Mcw and SSBN13 rats on either low-salt (0.4% NaCl) or high-salt (4% NaCl, 2 wk) diets.
