Histamine is a biogenic amine that participates in allergic and inflammatory processes by stimulating histamine receptors. The histamine H<sub>4</sub> receptor (H<sub>4</sub>R) is a potential therapeutic target for chronic inflammatory diseases such as asthma and atopic dermatitis.
