Acetylcholine (ACh) is a known modulator of the activity of dopaminergic (DAergic) neurons through the stimulation of nicotinic ACh receptors (nAChRs). Yet, the subunit composition and specific location of nAChRs involved in DA-mediated locomotion remain to be established in vivo.
