Wound infections are caused by various pathogenic microbes such as <i>S. aureus</i>, Non-coagulase <i>Streptococcus, Enterococci, E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter, Streptococci, Candida</i> and <i>Acinetobacter.</i> 10-33% of septic wounds infections were seen in India.
