Manganese peroxidases (MnP) from the white-rot fungi <i>Phanerochaete chrysosporium</i> catalyse the oxidation of Mn<sup>2+</sup> to Mn<sup>3+</sup>, a strong oxidizer able to oxidize a wide variety of organic compounds.
