The complete mitochondrial genome of a marine fish <i>Siganus sutor</i> was completely sequenced by the high throughput sequencing method. This complete mitochondrial genome was 16,497 bp in length, consisted of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, two rRNA genes and one large non-coding region. The gene arrangement of <i>S. sutor</i> is identical to those in typical fishes.
