The production of graphene oxide (GO) in large amounts for commercialization in the chemical industry has been limited because harsh and tedious process conditions are required. In this study, a novel carbon nanomaterial called 'bottom-up graphene oxide (BGO)' could be easily prepared for the first time by heat treatment of the mixture of citric acid (CA) and tannic acid (TA) with different weight ratios for the first time.
