Gut microbial β-glucuronidase (gmGUS) is involved in the disposition of many endogenous and exogenous compounds. Preclinical studies have shown that inhibiting gmGUS activity affects drug disposition, resulting in reduced toxicity in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and enhanced systemic efficacy.
