Next Generation Sequencing Facilitates Quantitative Analysis of Erysiphe pisi infected resistant and susceptible garden pea genotypes

ABSTRACT: Result and Conclusion: Comparative transcriptome analysis of the E. pisi infected Pisum sativum resistant genotype JI-2480 and susceptible genotype Arkel at 72 hours post inoculation was studied. Differential gene expression pattern of plant transcripts revealed significant expression of key resistance genes and candidate regulators of defense in resistant genotype JI-2480 compared to susceptible Arkel. The study provides new insight into the underlying system related to regulation of different biochemical process and molecular reaction during fungal infection. It provides powerful platform to further explore the key disease resistance genes, candidate effector related research on host-fungal interaction.
