An activity-specificity trade-off encoded in human transcription factors

ABSTRACT: Transcription factors play essential roles in cell type specification during differentiation, and small sets of transcription factors can reprogram cell identity. Therefore, we tested the impact of increasing periodicity of aromatic residues on the ability of transcription factors to reprogram cells.
