The gene expression of regulatory T cells in the brain and spinal cord
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Among T cells, regulatory T cells (Tregs) are the centers of immune tolerance and, like normal T cells, are generally born in the thymus gland, activated in secondary lymphoid tissues such as lymph nodes, and accumulate at sites of infection. On the other hand, it has been reported that there are Tregs that are resident in non-lymphoid tissues or that accumulate in damaged tissues. In this study, we focused on Tregs in the central nervous system and analyzed Tregs in mouse models of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), cerebral infarction, and Alzheimer's disease.
