Gene expression data from patients with peripheral arterial disease stenosis grade 1 vs 4 and 5
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Human PAD arteries were obtained from patients undergoing amputation. This is an extension of a previously published data set from Dr. Lawson's lab. In total 39 arterial samples from 27 patients undergoing amputation were collected, including posterior tibial artery, anterior tibial artery, superficial femoral artery, peroneal artery, and popliteal artery. Histologic sections were graded for the degree of stenosis as follows: zero – none, one - 1-25%, two – 26-50%, three – 51-75%, four – 76-95%, five – 96-100%. The protocol was approved by the Duke University Health System Institutional Review Board and all the donors gave their permission by written consent. We used microarrays to detail the global programme of gene expression underlying peripheral arterial disaes specifically in high-stenosis vessels vs. non-stenotic vessels.
