Genome-scale methylation data of hyperplastic and mild-dysplastic oral leukoplakias
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Oral leukoplakia (OL), an oral potentially malignant disorder (OPMD) begins with a hyperplastic stage and progresses through dysplasia before culminating in OSCC. Genome-wide methylation patterns have been extensively studied in OSCC. However, such studies are limited in the case of OPMDs. In this study, Infinium human EPIC arrays were performed using genomic DNAs isolated from seven affected and seven surrounding patient-matched normal tissues to identify aberrantly methylated CpG sites and differentially methylated regions (DMRs) and their association with OSCC susceptibility.
