Choroid plexus inflammation in bipolar disorder
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Postmortem human choroid plexus tissue from individuals with bipolar disorder and matched controls was analyzed using cytokine protein arrays and bulk RNA sequencing to characterize immune and barrier-related alterations. The study identifies increased pro-inflammatory signaling and reduced trophic/supportive pathways, implicating the choroid plexus as a neuroimmune interface in bipolar disorder.
