Spp1 Mediates Antimony Trioxide-Induced Male Reproductive Toxicity via Regulating Inflammatory Response and Blood-Testis Barrier Integrity

ABSTRACT: This study investigated the male reproductive toxicity of antimony trioxide (Sb₂O₃) using in vivo male mice and in vitro TM4 Sertoli cell models. Sb₂O₃ exposure impaired spermatogenesis, triggered inflammatory responses, and disrupted blood-testis barrier integrity by upregulating Spp1, whereas Spp1 knockdown effectively alleviated Sb₂O₃-induced inflammation, cell migration dysfunction and tight junction protein loss, identifying Spp1 as a crucial regulator of Sb₂O₃-mediated male reproductive injury.
