Single-cell transcriptomics reveals multicellular remodeling of the colonic mucosa by the Parkinson’s disease-associated pathobiont Proteus mirabilis
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Proteus mirabilis has been implicated as a gut microbial factor associated with Parkinson’s disease-related intestinal and neurological abnormalities. However, the cell type-specific intestinal responses to P. mirabilis remain poorly understood. In this study, we performed single-cell RNA sequencing of colonic tissues from control and P. mirabilis-treated mice to characterize the cellular and transcriptional alterations induced by P. mirabilis.
