Transcriptomic analysis of the effects of Poly I:C on islet cells in NOD mice
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: The relationship of autoimmune type 1 diabetes (T1D) and natural killer (NK) cells remains unclear. Poly inosine:cytidine (PolyI:C) is a double-stranded RNA mimic that activates an anti-viral response through TLR3 signaling and leads to activation of NK cells. Here we administered PolyI:C to female NOD mice in order to understand how NK cell activation changes the islet microenvironment by altering transcriptomes of islet cells.
