Benzo[a]pyrene-induced AHR activation in human ESCs primes premature neurogenesis in cerebral organoids

ABSTRACT: Benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) is a widespread polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon and environmental contaminant with potential adverse effects on early development. To investigate the transcriptional response of human pluripotent stem cells to BaP exposure, H9 human embryonic stem cells were exposed to 1 μM BaP for 7 days. Transcriptomic changes following BaP exposure were subsequently assessed by bulk RNA sequencing. This dataset provides a resource for investigating the molecular responses and potential mechanisms associate with BaP exposure during the pluripotent stage of human development.
