This study presents a global lactylome profiling of retinal tissues from diabetic retinopathy (DR) and control rats, revealing significant alterations in lysine lactylation that provide novel insights into the pathogenesis of DR
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Our comprehensive lactylome analysis delineates a compelling association between protein lactylation and diabetic retinopathy (DR). In the retinas of DR rats, we observed a marked imbalance in lactylation, with 55 sites on 49 proteins being significantly upregulated and 69 sites on 57 proteins downregulated compared to controls, highlighting the potential role of lactylation-driven pathways in DR pathology.
