Shotgun proteomics Identifies Molecular Signatures of Hydrosalpinx
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Subsequent to pelvic inflammatory diseases fallopian tube developed Hydrosalpinx, which is characterized as an enlarged occluded tube filled with fluid. Hydrosalpinx has adverse effects on tubal physiology and has been detrimental to success of in vitro fertilization (IVF). To assess molecular alteration associated with the effect of hydrosalpinx, we have performed discovery shotgun proteomics and verification analyses on 30 hydrosalpinx and healthy control lavages. These analyses distinguished 116 differentially expressed proteins in hydrosalpinx relative to healthy lavage.
