Evaluation of the Efficacy and Mechanism of FMT in Treating Malnutrition Following Gastroduodenal Reconstruction Surgery

ABSTRACT:

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of FMT in treating malnutrition following gastroduodenal reconstruction surgery, alongside changes in the metagenome and metabolome before and after transplantation.

Methods: A total of 20 patients underwent FMT (10 cases each in the mid-gastrointestinal tract TET group and the colonic TET group). Clinical response (defined as a BMI increase > 2%) was assessed one month post-FMT, whilst simultaneously observing the short-term, consecutive, fixed-time-point in situ (duodenal and ileocecal) microbial metagenome and urinary metabolome profiles.

INSTRUMENT(S): Liquid Chromatography MS - negative - reverse-phase, Liquid Chromatography MS - positive - reverse-phase
