Quantitative proteome of whole predatory life cycle of periplasmic predatory bacterium B.bacteriovorus HD100 on E.coli K-12 MG1655 (LC-MSMS)
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus is a Gram-negative predatory bacterium able to invade the periplasm of other Gram-negative bacteria. There, the predators feed on the prey cell contents before division and lysing the prey cell to escape and search for new prey. This project generates a highly resolved quantitative proteome for the entire predatory life cycle of B. bacteriovorus HD100 on Escherichia coli K-12 MG1655. The goal is to identify proteins with a specific pattern of abundance in different predatory life cycle phases, enabling a better understanding of the unique predatory mechanisms. This is achieved by quantifying and comparing proteins present at each predatory life cycle phase. Enhancing the understanding of B. bacteriovorus biology through this dataset can bolster its potential as a therapeutic tool against multidrug-resistant pathogens in the future.
