Project description:Weather extremes are increasing worldwide frequently exposing plants to transient flooding. When floodwaters recede, plants have to cope with increased light intensity and elevated oxygen that favor excessive formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). We report
a novel molecular mechanism that helps Arabidopsis leaves cope with reoxygenation in the light that reveals a central role of the alternative electron tranport in mitochodria in cellular ROS management that is beneficial for photosynthetic recovery and provides tolerance to reoxygenation stress.

Project description:BCL6 enables leukemia cells to cope with inhibition of oncogenic tyrosine kinases
Project description:To further characterize the capability of R. sphaeroides to cope with high cobalt ion concentrations, we combined the selection of adaptive defective mutants, carried out by negative selection of transposon insertional libraries on 5 mM Co2+ enriched solid medium, with the analysis of growing capacities and transcriptome profiling of a selected mutant (R95).
Project description:Swimming performance correlates with fitness of Atlantic salmon in the wild and farm conditions. Variation of this trait in salmon populations is high. The study assessed relationship between two parameters of swimming performance: the ability to cope with moderate and maximum swimming efforts.
Project description:Our study shows that expression of NPF8.4, as well as most photorespiration-associated genes, are up-regulated in response to 2 days of N depletion. Thus, study of NPF8.4 reveals a novel role for photorespiration in N flux to cope with short-term N depletion.
Project description:By comparing the transcriptome results of the control strain and the mutant strain under bile salt stress, the genes with large differential expression changes were analyzed in depth and combined with experiments to explore how the mutant genes were regulated by stress to cope with bile salt stress
