Retrospective study of 186 fetuses with sex chromosomal copy number variations

Project description:Sex chromosomal abnormalities areare associated with multiple defects. In this study, we retrospectively analyzed the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) arrays of 186 early embryos with sex chromosomal abnormalities. using single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) array. Among them, 52 cases of Turner syndrome, 21 cases of triple X syndrome, 35 cases of Klinefelter syndrome and 14 cases of XYY syndrome were detected. Moreover, 27 cases of mosaic sex chromosomal abnormalities were determined. Sex chromosomal deletions and duplications were found in 37 cases. Overall, our results presented a detailed manifestation of sex chromosomal abnormalities.

Geobacter sulfurreducens and Pseudomonas aeruginosa adapted cocultures SWATH-MS

Project description:In this study we further investigate the previously observed syntrophic interaction between Geobacter sulfurreducens and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In early coculture establishment, two genetic variants of G. sulfurreducens emerged that were strongly selected for throughout coculture evolution. Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) variants occurred in fabI and tetR genes of G. sulfurreducens. The tetR variants displayed upregulation of adenylate cyclase transporter, CyaE and of RND efflux pump proteins as determined through SWATH-MS proteomics.

Distinct DNA methylomes of moso bamboo in the phase transition from vegetative to reproductive growth

Project description:Bamboo represents the only major lineage of grasses that is native to forests and is one of the most important non-timber forest products in the world. Moso bamboo is a large woody bamboo that has ecological, economic and cultural value in Asia and accounts for ~70% of the total bamboo growth area (Peng et al., 2013). In the aspect of epigenetics of Moso bamboo,the total genomic DNA methylation rates in Moso bamboo at different chronological ages were significantly different (Yuan et al., 2014). Those show that the flowering of Moso bamboo are closely related to epigenetic modification. However, DNA methylation in single base resolution has never been reported in moso bamboo. In this study, leaves from three-week bamboo, one-year bamboo, flower in next year bamboo, flowering bamboo and Flower florets was used for bisulfite sequencing (BS-seq), and RNA-Seq. Genome-wide methylation profile and gene expression analysis were constructed to reveal the factors to regualte the phase transition from vegetative to reproductive growth in moso bamboo.
