Project description:Prolonged fasting is known to alter gut microbiota composition and impair intestinal homeostasis. To investigate the effects of nutritional supplementation on fasting-associated microbiota changes, male Sprague-Dawley rats were administered GFO® (a nutritional formulation containing glutamine, dietary fiber, and oligosaccharides) or 15% glucose solution twice daily for 9 days. Animals underwent fasting from days 6 to 9. A fed control group and a fasting-only group were included for comparison. Cecal contents were collected after euthanasia and subjected to 16S rDNA amplicon sequencing. This dataset was generated to evaluate fasting-associated alterations in gut microbial communities and the modulatory effects of GFO supplementation.
Project description:What are the effects of Microcystis aeruginosa and cyanotoxin on the grass carp intestine? 16S rRNA sequencing is needed to analyze the gut microbiota.
