Project description:Pomacanthus arcuatus is one of most important genera of Pomacanthidae. However, the systemically classification and taxonomic studies have so far been limited. In this study, we report the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of P. arcuatus. The mitogenome has 16,718 base pairs (54.4% A + T content) and made up of total of 37 genes (13 protein-coding, 22 transfer RNAs and 2 ribosomal RNAs), and a putative control region. This study will provide useful genetic information for future phylogenetic and taxonomic classification of Pomacanthidae.
Project description:Corydoras arcuatus is a kind of famous and precious ornamental fish. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome yielded by next-generation sequencing of Corydoras arcuatus was assembled and analyzed. The total length of the mitochondrial genome is 16,822 bp, with the base composition of 32.40% A, 26.10% T, 26.30% C, and 15.20% G. It contains two ribosomal RNA genes, 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, and a major non-coding control region (D-loop region). The arrangement of these genes is the same as that found in the Siluriformes. All the protein initiation codons are ATG, except for cox1 that begins with GTG. The complete mitogenomes of C. arcuatus and other 17 species from nine genera were used for phylogenetic analysis by Neighbour-Joining method. The topology demonstrated that all species are divided into three groups (Siluridae, Loricariidae, and Callichthyidae), and the C. arcuatus was clustered with C. rabauti and C. nattereri.

Project description:This study aims to investigate the DNA methylation patterns at transcription factor binding regions and their evolutionary conservation with respect to binding activity divergence. We combined newly generated bisulfite-sequencing experiments in livers of five mammals (human, macaque, mouse, rat and dog) and matched publicly available ChIP-sequencing data for five transcription factors (CEBPA, HNF4a, CTCF, ONECUT1 and FOXA1). To study the chromatin contexts of TF binding subjected to distinct evolutionary pressures, we integrated publicly available active promoter, active enhancer and primed enhancer calls determined by profiling genome wide patterns of H3K27ac, H3K4me3 and H3K4me1.
