Periodontitis bacteria release vesicles that can harm the brain. In zebrafish, these vesicles caused brain injury, inflammation, movement problems, and Alzheimer’s-like changes, including amyloid plaques and enzyme activity. This study suggests periodontitis may contribute to Alzheimer’s disease.
To identify the candidate that directly stabilizes G3BP1 mRNA, the enriched proteins pulled down by G3BP1 probes and anti-RAN antibody were subjected to mass spectrometry (MS) analysis
Three mice were excised at day 7 after pilocarpine treatment to induce abundant GPNMB expression (Figures 1 and 2). Hippocampal proteins were extracted and pulled down by anti-GPNMB immunoprecipitation for mass-spectrometer assay.
