We have got a yellow shell variety of Pinctada fucata martensii after years of artificial breeding. To identify differentially expressed genes between yellow shell and normal black shell pearl oysters, we performed label-free proteomic analyses by LC-MS using mantle edge tissues.

Increased heavy rainfall cause important drops in salinity to values close to 0, which can persist for several days in estuaries. Lethal and sublethal physiological and behavioural effects of decreases in salinity below ten have already been found to occur in the commercially relevant clam species V...

Transcriptomes of different tissues from Crassostrea nippona
Transcriptional profiling of different clam tissues (hemolymph, extrapallial fluid and mantle) in response to brown ring disease; Brown ring disease (BRD) is a bacterial infection affecting the economically-important clam Ruditapes philippinarum. The disease is caused by a bacterium, Vibrio tapetis,...

In order to screen and identify biomineralization gene, microarray technique was used to reveal tissues specific expression genes in the brunet mantle edge (ME), mantle centre (MC), and both ME and MC (ME-MC) from assembled transcriptome contigs of Pinctada fucata martensii, ideal pearl oyster for t...

Embryonic eyelid closure is a critical step of mammalian ocular surface development involving the forward movement and ultimate fusion of the upper and lower eyelids. Although its underlying mechanism of action is not fully understood, a functional mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase 1 (M...
