The effects of global mitochondrial calcium (Ca<sup>2+</sup>) uniporter (MCU) deficiency on hypoxic-ischemic (HI) brain injury, neuronal Ca<sup>2+</sup> handling, bioenergetics and hypoxic preconditioning (HPC) were examined.
