Effect of hepatic FPN ablation on the liver transcriptome in mice

ABSTRACT: Iron overload has emerged as a key risk factor for MASLD and metabolic disorders. We explored the effects of hepatocyte-specific knockout of ferroportin (FPN), the only known iron exporter, on the pathogenesis of MASLD and the associated metabolic dysfunction. To investigate the molecular basis, we carried out RNA-sequencing analysis using liver samples from littermate control and hepatocyte-specific Fpn KO mice.
