Super-enhancer formation in scirrhous gastric cancer-associated fibroblasts, and its presence in fibroblasts in non-cancerous tissues (1)
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Scirrhous gastric cancer has aggressive clinical courses and is characterized by dominating cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs). We here aimed to explore the molecular basis for scirrhous CAFs and their origin. Scirrhous CAFs had heavily acetylated super-enhancers, and therapeutic targeting of super-enhancers by a BET bromodomain inhibitor, mivebresib, markedly decreased their migration-promoting activity.
