RNA-Seq analysis of 2C genes in mESC lines with overexpression of full length NELFA, MERVL-NELFA and IDR-deletion mutant (NELFA-IDR-Del).

ABSTRACT: Zygotic genome activation (ZGA) in early embryos is driven by extensive chromatin remodeling initiated by maternal factors, enabling the activation of cleavage-stage gene programs that underpin totipotency. In mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs), a similar 2-cell-like (2C) state can be induced experimentally through the expression of specific maternal regulators such as NELFA. The RNA-seq dataset here was used to estimate the impact of full length NELFA, MERVL-NELFA and IDR-deletion mutant (NELFA-IDR-Del) on expression of 2C genes in mESCs.
