Deficiency in plastid EF-Tu elicits DNA damage response in Arabidopsis thaliana
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Arabidopsis RAB8D (AT4G20360) encodes the plastid translation factor EF-Tu, which is crucial for plant viability. We wondered about the connection between RAB8D deficiency and DNA damage response. RNA-seq results revealed significant upregulation of DNA repair-related genes in rab8d-2, a knock-down mutant of RAB8D. Introducing the knockout allele of ATM (atm-2), SOG1 (sog1-1), NAC044 (nac044-1), or NAC085 (nac085-1) into rab8d-2 significantly reduced the expression of DNA repair-related genes.
