Drug-seq analysis of adult T-cell leukemia cells treated with fluorouracil and bleomycin
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) is an aggressive malignancy that develops in a subset of individuals infected with human T-lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) and is characterized by marked chemoresistance and frequent relapse. HTLV-1 preferentially infects CD4⁺ T cells, which constitute the main malignant population in ATL. We evaluated transcriptomic perturbations in CD4⁺ T cells from five ATL patients, three healthy donors, and two ATL cell lines following 48-hour treatment with the chemotherapeutic agents fluorouracil and bleomycin sulfate.
