The immune response to a biodegradable polymer and corresponding collagen regeneration
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: In this study, we used RNA sequencing to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying site-specific tissue regeneration induced by an injectable thermosensitive PLGA-PEG-PLGA hydrogel (T-gel) in rats. We compared the transcriptomic profiles of skin tissue following intradermal or subcutaneous injection of T-gel, with saline injections at corresponding sites as controls. This is evidenced by a greater number of differentially expressed genes and a significant enrichment of extracellular matrix organization and collagen biosynthesis pathways in the intradermal group compared to the subcutaneous group.
