Inhibition of IGF1R in Early MMTV-Wnt1 Mammary Tumors: A Transcriptomic Analysis
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Basal-like breast cancers are aggressive and difficult to treat clinically. Tumors of this subtype have decreased expression of the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF1R). The aim of this study was to determine phenotypic changes that occur in basal-like tumors when IGF1R signaling is reduced. Transcriptomic analysis identified previously unknown cell subpopulations and alterations in gene expression that resulted from inhibition of the IGF1R in a mouse model of basal-like breast cancer. These outcomes can be used as biomarkers to enable new therapeutic approaches in patients with basal-like breast cancer.
