Transcriptome analysis of circSmad5 knockdown in immortalized hair follicle stem cells (iHFSC2)

ABSTRACT: To investigate the role ofcircSmad5 in hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs), we performed RNA-seq on iHFSC2 cells with circSmad5 knockdown (shcircSmad5) versus empty vector control. Knockdown of circSmad5 increased hair count in a hair reconstitution model and activated Wnt/β-catenin and Mrs/Erk signaling pathways. This study provides transcriptomic insights into how circSmad5 regulates HFSC stemness and differentiation.
