Hepatocyte angiotensinogen deletion protects against Western diet-induced adiposity and hepatic steatosis under thermoneutral housing

ABSTRACT: Room-temperature housing imposes adaptive cold stress in mice and can alter brown adipose tissue activity and systemic energy expenditure. This study tested whether hepatocyte-specific Agt deletion protects against Western diet-induced metabolic dysfunction under thermoneutral housing. Male hepAGT-/- and hepAGT+/+ littermate mice were housed at room temperature or thermoneutrality and fed a Western diet for 12 weeks. Liver, brown adipose tissue, and epididymal white adipose tissue were collected for bulk RNA-seq to define tissue-specific transcriptional programs associated with hepatocyte angiotensinogen deletion and thermal environment.
