Bulk RNA sequencing of human sensory neurons following varicella-zoster virus infection or exposure to patient-derived serum exosomes
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Bulk RNA sequencing was performed to characterize transcriptional responses of differentiated human sensory neurons following either direct varicella-zoster virus infection or exposure to serum-derived exosomes from healthy controls, patients with acute herpes zoster, or patients with post-herpetic neuralgia. These datasets were generated to identify molecular pathways associated with direct viral infection and exosome-mediated neuronal dysfunction. reference genome and gene quantification by RSEM. Differential expression and downstream pathway analyses were performed using DESeq2 and gene set enrichment analysis.
