Recently, the nitro-substituted bisquaternary bisnaphthalimides were reported to have substantial anti-infective activity against Gram-positive bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Here, we selected resistant S. aureus clones by cultivation in increasing concentrations of the most active compound, MT02.
