Phosphoproteomic profiling of Neospora caninum tachyzoites and PKG inhibitor MBP146-78 treatment

ABSTRACT: In this study, phosphorylation levels of Neospora caninum parasite (Nc1 strains) tachyzoites were compared with PKG inhibitor MBP146-78 treated and untreated, contains two replicates. Therefore, four subprojects are included in this project. Subproject IPX0011618001 is composed of the sub-dataset generated by control group with DMSO/vehicle treatment repeat 1. Subproject IPX0011618002 is composed of the sub-dataset generated by control group with DMSO/vehicle treatment repeat 2. Subproject IPX0011618003 is composed of the sub-dataset generated by PKG inhibitor MBP146-78 treatment group repeat 1. Subproject IPX0011618004 is composed of the sub-dataset generated by PKG inhibitor MBP146-78 treatment group repeat 2.

Neospora caninum, a pathogen associated with abortion in pregnant cattle and motor nerve disorders in dogs, poses a substantial threat. Cyclic GMP-dependent protein kinase (PKG) functions as a central signal transduction hub in apicomplexan parasites. However, PKG has not been characterized in N. caninum, and its targets and pathways controlled by PKG remain unknown. Using a mini auxin-inducible degron system (mAID), we knocked down PKG in N. caninum, demonstrating its indispensable role in tach  ...[more]
